The Shahada: the testimony of faith
The Shahada is the declaration of faith in Islam, affirming the oneness of God (Allah) and the prophethood of Muhammad (peace be upon him). It is the first pillar of Islam.
Ash-hadu an lā ilāha illallāhu waḥdahu lā sharīka lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muḥammadan ‘abduhu wa rasūluh.
I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship except Allah, alone, without partner, and I testify that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
